Field Service Technician – Water Treatment
ProChemTech International Inc is seeking ambitious and self-motivated individuals for the position of field service technician – water treatment.
Responsibilities
This is a field position working at customer locations with minimal direct supervision. The individual will do routine water testing and equipment inspection to identify problems, develop solutions, and service assigned water and wastewater treatment accounts. Typical systems serviced include steam boilers, HVAC and industrial cooling towers, evaporative condensers, hot and cold closed loops, water softeners, sidestream media filters, reverse osmosis units, and industrial wastewater systems.
This includes following tasks:
- Work with current customers to understand their unique business needs and meet those needs to maintain and grow sales of ProChemTech chemicals and equipment within the customer’s facility.
- Provide technical support to customers by identifying and resolving a variety of challenges, as required, promoting long-term business relationships with ProChemTech.
- Perform water & system analysis and data interpretation to provide written recommendations ensuring that customer’s operations are performing at optimal levels. This includes but is not limited to; chemical testing, calibration and repair of chemical feed related equipment, and visual inspections of systems.
- Collaborate with the Engineered Systems Division on sales of major systems, such as wastewater treatment, recycle, and reuse, and cooling towers.
- Establish and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in current and prospective customers, including industrial plant and facility executives.
- Work with account sales/service representatives and account managers to help expand and develop additional customer opportunities.
- Deliver treatment chemicals to customer as required. Maintain appropriate chemical inventory at customer site.
- Interface with ProChemTech engineering, chemical, laboratory, office, and management staff to resolve customer problems.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A degree in science or engineering is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in sales is welcome, but not required.
- Highly motivated and goal-oriented personality; good at meeting deadlines and time management.
- Commitment to excellent customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills: chemical, electrical, and/or mechanical aptitude is preferred but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Some customers require passing a drug test or getting a security clearance.
- Experience in water treatment; industrial, potable, and/or wastewater would be a plus
Income and Benefits
Service technicians are hourly employees with a current reimbursement range of $20 to $35 per hour dependent upon skill level. Senior technicians have a 10% commission on profit for new sales made in addition to the hourly wage. Additional benefits include two weeks paid vacation as well as nationally recognized holidays, fully paid family medical coverage (excluding dental and eye), a matching 401 K, and a company car or truck. Note all service-related job expenses are reimbursed.
Position Location
Reporting site is our Chemical Plant and Service Center #2, Apache Junction, AZ. Work area is metro Phoenix and Tucson. Supervisor will be the plant service and plant manager at the Apache Junction facility.
